...in dark fiber Has any body every heard of "dark fiber"?
Japan's fiber users number over three times the combined total of those in the rest of the world. it seems as if, under our feet in Tokyo, there are oodles of pasta-like so-called "dark fiber"; fiber optic 100 Mbps cable that isn't being used :O Just sitting there asleep; in the dark.

Not enough content to pump through it? Not enough people (or companies) thinking of the context in which people want to experience rich media, what kind of media they want to experience or how to produce this media? Or better yet, nobody with the guts to step up to the plate and JUST DO SOMETHING! If other counties had the kind of fiber japan has, you can bet your life everybody and their grandmothers in those countries would be swarming like fledgling spring bees with new content related services and applications :-)'
...like what? for starters, try true high definition on-demand video on plasma screens. see http://www.streamonix.com/ Japan has a chance to be at the lead of this new level of entertainment experience, and business, but has all but blown it.
What's going on :O a call for action. anybody out there want to do something about it? ;)
